Ahh… underwear.. Something we all wear every day but how much thought do we actually put into it. For years, I’ve stuck with the good ol’ brief and occasional boy shorts style. That was until one day I accidentally picked up a pack of hipsters and realised the joy in being able to mix and match! I begun my journey of trying new styles with different types of clothing and I’m suddenly blown away by all the options. So with all that being said, here’s 8 types of knickers every woman should own!
Thong
Thongs have very minimal coverage making them the perfect knicker choice to avoid VPL (Visible Panty Lines). Thongs have a T-shaped sting in the backroads provide the least amount of cheek coverage.
WEAR WITH: Form-fitting skirts and dresses, leggings or fitted trousers.
MOST FLATTERING ON: Athletic shapes and Petites.

Hipster
As the name would suggest, hipsters sit on the hips, a couple of inches below the waist and give a good amount of coverage. These are designed for comfort and can come is a variety of materials.
WEAR WITH: Everyday wear and low-rise jeans.
MOST FLATTERING ON: Pear Shapes.

Shorts
Shorts are designed to be similar to men’s briefs. While very similar to hipsters with the rectangular shape at the top, the difference comes in the leg. Shorts or boyshorts as they’re widely known as have a lower-cut leg. Some legs can even go down as low as the thighs. Shorts are designed for ultimate comfort and a smooth silhouette.
WEAR WITH: Medium to high-rise trousers or your at home slouchy clothing.
MOST FLATTERING ON: Pear Shapes.

High Leg
High Leg knickers sit just below the waist with an ultra flattering high-cut leg giving the illusion of longer legs and creating curves.

Briefs provide a lot of coverage both front and back. With comfort in mind, I consider these to be my perfect period pants! Briefs come in both high and low rise depending on comfort and are most commonly made in comfortable fabrics, such as cotton and nylon.
WEAR WITH: Low to high rise trousers.
MOST FLATTERING ON: Hourglass & Pear shapes

Shapewear
Shapewear knickers are designed to give targeted control to help you feel better in whatever you’re wear. The most common type has tummy control to help smooth your silhouette when wearing dresses or fitted skirts.
WEAR WITH: Form fitting dresses/skirts.
MOST FLATTERING ON: All body types looking to smooth their silhouette.

Bikini
Bikini knickers are very similar to the brief but have just a little less coverage. The waistband typically sits a little lower and occasionally, can be found with the leg holes being made of a thin string of fabric.
WEAR WITH: Anything except tight body con skirts and dresses.
MOST FLATTING ON: All body types.

G-String
G-String knickers have the least amount of coverage out of all the knicker types. Similar to a thong, it forms a T-Shape, but has a much thinner string at the back.
