Reviews on my blog disappeared for a good while and this month I’m working really hard to get back to the beauty content I know and love. Yesterday I wrote about my Current Skincare Essentials and mentioned I’d be writing a whole post dedicated to Trilogy’s Makeup Be Gone Cleansing Balm. Well, here it is!
This cleansing balm combines ‘a rich blend of pure plant oils, which melts on contact with warm skin, dissolving impurities and leaving your face perfectly cleansed, supple and silky-smooth.’
On first impressions, I honestly wasn’t crazy about the idea of using a balm containing oil on my face as I have pretty oily skin. However, after a desperate out-of-my-regular-cleanser moment, I reached for the cleansing balm and by gosh am I glad I did. The balm is so soft and literally melts into your hand almost immediately.
The main ingredients are mango butter, rosehip oil and coconut oil and they’re represented in scent. The ingredients Trilogy uses in their products are always so well thought out and always have multiple benefits. The mango seed butter acts as an anti-inflammatory and softens the skin, the rosehip oil helps hydrate and nourish while fading dark spots and the coconut oil is naturally anti-bacterial and helps heal and repair the skin.
To use it’s super simple, just pick up 1/4 teaspoon amount of the balm and massage into the skin. Then you simply take a damp cloth and wipe it all away. I’ve honestly never used anything that removes waterproof mascara so quickly and so effortlessly. There’s no oily residue left on the skin which was initially a major concern of mine. Instead it leaves the skin super hydrated and smooth.
Have any of you tried a cleansing balm to remove you makeup? What was your experience like?

Great review …Can you use water on it instead of a cloth after ? I’ve tried the Clarins pure melt cleansing gel but you can use water with that one
