I feel like I do a lot of posts about my top makeup products but since they’re my most popular posts I thought I’d dish out another one for you all. As it’s summer and the time of the year us girls like to start switching out our foundations I decided today’s post will be about my top 5 drugstore foundations. I’m personally someone who loves drugstore foundations and I massive begrudge paying anything over £15 for a new one. These days there’s so much variety in price, finishes, level of coverage and so much more in drugstore foundations which means you’re extremely likely to find something to suit everyone. So here’s my favourite five!
Revlon colour stay Foundation
Price: £12.99
Coverage: Medium-Full
Skin type: Combination/Oily
Finish: Matte
Available shades: 9
I love this foundation for a quick flawless face. I’ve found this applies best when pressed into the skin with either a beauty blender or flat top brush. If you have super oily skin, you may still need to apply a little powder to keep the shine away throughout the day. The foundation has a tendency to cling to dry patches also, so make sure you moisturize well before use.
L’oreal Infallible Foundation
Price: £7.99
Coverage: Full
Skin type: Combination/Oily
Finish: Super Matte
Available shades: 6
This foundation has had so much hype built up around it the past few months and with very good reason. This is by far my favourite drugstore foundation of all time. I have very oily skin and if you’re more normal to dry this may not be the foundation for you as it is very matte. I found I can get away without any powder and this still stays put and shine free all day long. I found buffing this in with a stippling brush works best.
ELF Flawless Finish Foundation
Price: £6/7?
Coverage: Light buildable
Skin Type: Normal/Dry
Finish: Natural
Available shades: 6
This is a great foundation for any makeup artist out there. I use this in my kit since it wears beautifully on all skin types. One downfall with drugstore foundations is that there isn’t much variety in shades, whereas ELF only has 6 shades they’re all very different ranging from super light (Porcelain) to super dark (Coco). They’re not too pricey so I carry them in my kit and mix them together for a perfect shade every time.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Price: £9.99
Coverage: Light – medium
Skin Type: Normal/Dry
Finish: Radiant – Dewy
Available shades: 8
If you have oily skin and want to try out a dewy makeup look without looking like you’ve shoved your head in a bucket of oil, then definitely try out this foundation. While I still powder the most oily areas on my face I leave the rest powder free and it gives a lovely natural fresh dewy look to the face.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Price: £5.99
Coverage: Light-medium
Skin Type: Normal/Dry
Finish: Radiant
Available shades: 5
This is definitely my go to everyday foundation. It’s has a gorgeous natural radiant finish that just makes you look healthy and awake. This foundation looks amazing on every skin type and can be easily built up to a fuller coverage. I love applying this with a damp beauty blender.

I sent my comment too soon and now it sounds blunt! hahaha! Whoops! I’m glad you like the post! xx
Great post! I need that loreal foundation 🙂 The Bourjois one looks great on.
YES! Definitely try the l’oreal foundation. It’s honestly my favourite! xx
Revlon colorstay is one of my favorites as well! I also like Loreal True Match Lumi. It’s so dewy and gorgeous!
Ooo.. I’ve not tried the L’oreal Try Match yet. I’ll have to get my hands on it and give it a go! xx
I LOVE the Revlon Colorstay foundation, it is sooo good. I have yet to try the e.l.f. one which is a shock because I love all things e.l.f. but I’ve heard so many good things about it! Awesome post! XO -Kim

The ELF foundation is soooo nice! It’s pretty much my go to foundation most days! Definitely give it a whirl! xx
How did you decide on what colour to go for with the Elf foundation?! I love all their other cosmetics would love to give their foundation a go!
I had three different shades and experimented from there. I mix Porcelain and Buff together for my perfect shade. Not sure if I could be much help with that. Although, I like to use the site findation.com which recommends foundation shades based on the foundation you’re already wearing. May be worth a go! 🙂 xx
Yes , me too found Bourjois and L’oreal perfect ! It was really thoughtful to give that consolidated look at the end, helps people to choice accordingly.

Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked the post! xx
Great post! I love that you’ve included pictures. I use the L’Oreal foundation as well, and normally use a stippling brush or my fingers with it,although sometimes I find that it sets before I really have a chance to work it into my skin.
Yeah, I get that sometimes too. I find a damp beauty blender does help to lengthen the playtime but it still sets pretty quickly. I tend to just work it in to the skin in small sections. Thanks for reading! xx
I go back to revlon colour stay every winter, such a fab alternative to the pricier foundations like Mac and nars! X
Same! It’s such a good winter foundation! xx
